Eagles Palace welcomed eight distinguished artists and filmmakers, between 9 and 15 May 2016, for the 4th Artists in Residence Program (Visual Arts Edition).
The invited artists whose practices cover a wide range of disciplines such as Video, Film, Performances and other interdisciplinary applications of the medium in Contemporary Art were: Emma Doxiadis, Alexandros Kaklamanos, Ilias Mamaliogas, Virginia Mastrogiannaki, Orestis Mavroudis, Esmeralda Momferatou, Sofia Simaki and Dimitris Foutris.
The program, which focused on the artistic dialogue, the exchange of views and the deepening of practices, as well as the acquaintance with the hotel and the surrounding area, is the ideal environment in which the artists can devote themselves to the work. their. Discussions, presentations, screenings and invited speakers, helped to maximize the experience of the artists.
Among the presentations was that of artist Anastasis Stratakis who participated in the 3rd Artists in Residence Program, who presented his experience and how it was utilized and integrated into his wider work.
One of the highlights of the 4th Artists in Residence Program was the Masterclass of George Drivas, the representative of Greece at the 57th Venice Biennale. George Drivas, who in Venice presented the animated work Laboratory of Dilemmas, curated by Orestis Andreadakis, spoke about the challenges of the medium.
